I Can't Help What I See is an ongoing series of mixed media art, with a focus on the digital, entertainment and economic landscapes.
As an example, ‘BTC Over Mars’ and ‘ETH Me to the Moon’ are works based on the first TV image of Mars in 1965 which was hand coloured: “A ‘real-time data translator’ machine converted a Mariner 4 digital image data into numbers printed on strips of paper. Too anxious to wait for the official processed image, employees from the Telecommunications Section at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory attached these strips side-by-side to a display panel and hand coloured the numbers like a paint-by-numbers picture.” The visual vertical fragmentation of the 220 strips on each work reflect the fluctuations in the economic climate.
Original works, signed and dated.
